Volunteering

Volunteers are at the heart of Wild Film Festival Scotland – and you can join them. Get great experience, free access to films and events and the chance to be part of the team running an exciting new event from 24-26 March 2017.

You simply need to be over 18 years of age and willing to give a minimum of 12 hours to cover some of the following volunteer duties:

  • stewarding at event venues
  • welcoming and providing information to visitors to the festival
  • acting as runners to aid communication between festival venues
  • support of the general organisation, evaluation and operation of the film festival.

Applications need to be with us by Sunday 5th March.

Please note these are unpaid volunteer posts and we are unable to cover the cost of travel to or accommodation in Dumfries.

Fiona Stoddart

Volunteer Co-ordinator

We are very lucky to have Fiona Stoddart as part of our team as she’s highly practical and full of good ideas. All of this is invaluable in her role as Volunteer Co-Ordinator. As the title suggests, she is the one who will be organising the folk on the ground who will be offering help, information and support to everyone we welcome to the festival.

Fiona has worked in universities for 20 years, initially as a researcher and then for the last nine working with students on different media degree programmes. Earlier in her career she worked with young people in the outdoors in Colorado, North Carolina and Western Australia. Any spare time Fiona has is spent cycling or watching wildlife around the Solway Firth.
